Thanks for the comment Tom.

It wasn’t intended as a dig at you, as I’m sure most people don’t write like that consciously.

Sometimes these things (if you read a post in isolation) can infer that it is not hard.

When in reality you will slog your guts out, and unless you are super can-do (most people aren’t) and super passionate (most people aren’t), you are not likely to succeed. Most people aren’t prepared to work their bums off and make sacrifices, but then, for those that are, most of what they read (like your stuff, Clay’s, Chris G’s etc) won’t sound out of the question.

It didn’t for me. In fact it was you, Clay and Chris that finally motivated me to accelerate what I was doing.

It’s interesting that you think I make it sound like self-employment is easy. If one is inspired it certainly can be easier than employment so I guess you have to consider the alternative.

I think it can be difficult to go it alone without a mentor or coach. The learning curve to profitability can be very steep. If you haven’t worked with a start up coach before then you have no idea at the acceleration that’s possible.
