How I Got on the Front Page of Mashable

by Tim M on October 7, 2009

Today I awoke and, as always, checked my email (as I ate my delicious Darwin mango at 6AM) – imagine my surprise at seeing a whole lot of pingbacks for my Totally Awesome Beginner’s Guide to Integrating Facebook and Wordpress.

I wondered who had gotten a hold of it, and was very pleasantly surprised to see I was on the front page of Mashable!

How to publish a 40 page ebook in 7 hours.

by Tim M on October 1, 2009

There it is.

Here’re the key things to remember.
1. Know what the hell you’re talking about.
2. Sit down, put some rad music on (I suggest Muse, Brand New, Rise Against, Sublime, The (very awesome) Red Eyes. Smash it. DO NOT EDIT.
3. Read, edit, publish.

That’s it. Now go make it happen.

After writing my Very Useful Guide post to integrating Facebook and WordPress, I thought I’d put it all in a guide you can download.

This Web2.0 business can be a bit overwhelming: Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed, Ning, Vimeo – the list of sites and services is ever-expanding and pretty confusing.

For me though, two services clearly stand out – Twitter and Facebook. Both are great for communicating with users and getting information and news out. I don’t have a personal FB account as I personally abhorr the crap people put on FB – it’s a great business tool, nothing else (FB have done a great job of convincing people it’s a great personal “tool” too).
